Distance between HVAC registers?

What is the minimum distance between 2 A/C registers location on the ceiling? I've a scoffed ceiling, and there are recess cans near the corners. Because of that my builder moved the A/C registers closer - approx. 2 to 2 1/2 feet apart.





I think they are too close, but builder says it is okay. This master bedroom size is 15x17 ft.





Any suggestion is appreciated.

You will not get proper air circulation in the room like that. There is no set distance to keep them apart but the location should be based on proper air circulation not what is convenient for the builder. Reply:Can't see why you would need two registers in a 15 x 17 room but they will work fine at that distance. why did he put them so close together? are they running off the same duct? if they are I don't see the point of having two.
